Short and Sweet Weekend Stay at Hilton
I can never get enough of the beach. It's my favorite playground of all time. And what perfect timing to be missing it — my husband received a gift voucher for a one-night stay with Embassy Suites in Oxnard. We were excited when we had the chance to get away from the city. Oxnard is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from our place. I can already smell the ocean as we prepare for this short trip. Let's go! Or shall I say "Let me go!"

We were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting environment. Everyone was friendly at the resort. Our room had an amazing view of the ocean and, just being there, was very comforting.

Happy Hour
We arrived at the hotel during a happy hour of free drinks and snacks. What more can I ask for? Everything was going perfectly on this very fine day. the resort has a late check-in time of 4:00 PM but that's fine because happy hour starts from 5:30 pm till 7:30 pm. We had mixed vodka cocktails with nachos on the sides and ended the good time with a beer by the jacuzzi.
Pool and Jacuzzi
This is my favorite part of the resort. The deliciously warm water felt so good, especially with a beer on the side. It was pure relaxation.
For dinner, we decided to order a fast-food burger since we didn't like the menu in their restaurant. It's been a while since we had The Habit — my number one burger place here in LA — so we ordered online and picked up our food in the lobby. There are other restaurants available just a few minute's drive from the resort too. We decided to stick to the comfort of our room, enjoying the night breeze from our very own patio.
I slept like a baby the whole night. Sometimes all we need is a one-night stay away from the city to reset our minds.

Complimentary Breakfast
The next day we had a buffet breakfast by the poolside. Afterwards, we walked along the beach while reading inspiring quotes engraved on benches along the way.
Before checking out at 11:00am, we swam in the pool and dipped one last time in the jacuzzi. It was a short and relaxing stay.
