There's something about the sky that makes me want to have the ability to fly. The vast horizon and the clear blue sky are a playground for the mind and soul. I've done a few flying adventures, and getting on a hot air balloon ride is on my bucket list. I've almost done one in Canada with my husband but it was cancelled due to bad weather, not just once but twice.
It all happened for a reason as we're meant to fly in Italy overlooking the grandeur of vineyards in the metropolitan city of Florence called San Casciano in Val di Pesa. Let’s go!

Hot Air Balloon Ride in San Casciano in Val di Pesa

Hot Air Balloon ride with Prosecco breakfast

Hot air balloon ride: 250 euros + 50 euros for hotel transfers

Meeting time near the balloons: 7:30 AM
Setup and inflation of the balloon are around 35 minutes and the flight is about 1 hour. The whole adventure takes approximately 2.5 hrs - 3 hours
Estimated Finish time: 1:00 PM
We almost missed our flight as our sweet but confused driver don't know the exact location of the meeting place. A little misunderstanding between the operators that was all settled with a simple smile and the word "don't worry."
Here we go! Finally, I've been waiting for this ride for a long time.
Another hot air balloon joined in the fun. This was just part of a dream I have when I was young and here I am wondering if this was all just a dream.
Looking down I can't imagine how many billions of people roamed around this earth.
This is definitely one of our highlights in Siena, Italy.
The sun has finally said hello and the clouds are clearing up.
A song played in my mind while we're up in the air: "I can see clearly now the rain is gone I can see all obstacles in my way Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind It's gonna be a bright (bright)Bright (bright) sunshiny day It's gonna be a bright (bright)Bright (bright) sunshiny day."
I'm glad I don't have a fear of heights, I get scared too but the excitement to see something new powers me up. Something that I don't see every day motivates me to see more, there's so much wonder in this world and we all have to see it with our own eyes.
A closer look at the town before getting back to reality.
Our landing was smooth like the olive oils of Siena. Just keep in mind to follow what the guide tells you and everything will be ok.
The most awaited part of this deal was our Prosecco breakfast.
I've never heard of it before so I'm pretty excited about it. A Prosecco Breakfast is a fancy kind of breakfast in Europe specifically popular in Italy and France too. An Italian version of wine made from prosecco grape which is a perfect match for a variety of cheese and a wide selection of Italian cured meats.
I have an excellent appreciation for bread with olive oil now. Our Italian breakfast was light and tasty. The flavours were just right to wake and fill you up for the morning. Memorable flying experience and a satisfying Prosecco breakfast.
Our package includes a trip back to the hotel. We roamed around the town of Siena once more with a newfound respect for Italian breakfast and our love for wine just keeps getting better and stronger.
