Chilling with hubby and our baby at the Infinity pool. I’m proud to say I’m a mom now. Having a baby opened up a whole different world of endless possibilities for me.
Infinity pool
Aside from the Infinity pool, they have another one called Rainforest Pool, a smaller swimming pool with an artificial waterfall. After enjoying their pool, you can dine in for the Lunch Buffet at the Sunset Sports Bar.
Another option for kids is the Fun Zone where they can enjoy playing indoors when it's scorching hot outside.
The Beach
The first time our little dumpling experienced the beach was the cold waters of California. Oh Boy! I can still remember his face when his little toes first touched the icy, cold water. It’s really nice to introduce him to the warm waters of the Philippines. I can hear his favorite songs from the Disney movie “Moana” playing alongside him as he plays with the water.
They also have a Boardwalk with lounge chairs and tables. We sat down there for a few minutes before going straight to the small beach next to the jetty. The beach is not one of their strong points, they don’t have the fine white sands that we’re looking for, it’s a little bit rocky so make sure you wear slippers.
Family time means happy time. It’s amazing when you have a little human to take care of, life is not the same anymore. I can’t imagine life without our little one.
What do I love about Dusit Thani?
Is their wonderful customer service. Just an observation based on my experience and that of some people I know. Normally, if you’re not a foreigner, or let’s say you’re simple and quiet, or in other words ‘local.’ Some resorts don’t pay that much attention to your presence. It’s an annoying thing in the Philippines where foreigners are worshipped like Gods and offered great services for some reason. However, I didn’t feel that way with Dusit Thani, and I need to mention another favorite resort Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa. I don’t know if it’s because they're a five-star rated resort or maybe management is just different. Well, Kudos to the team! We loved both resorts and we highly recommend them if you’re in Mactan.
The Bar
The resort features 272 guest rooms that run across three hotel buildings. This was in their open-air lobby where you can have cocktails overlooking the sea.
The lunch buffet is pretty basic with the Resort Day Use Package on normal days. However, we went on a Public Holiday so our Lunch buffet was a bit special.
Tradewinds Cafe at Dusit Thani Cebu Resort
If you're looking for a panoramic view of the ocean and a sumptuous international buffet then check out the Tradewinds Cafe. For reservations, contact dtmc@dusit.com .
Prices range from 1,400 PHP - 1,600 PHP / 28 USD - 32 USD
Tradewinds Cafe Buffet hours:
Buffet Breakfast: 06:00 to 10:30
Monday to Sunday: Buffet Lunch from 12:00 to 14:30,
Sunday to Thursday: Buffet Dinner from 18:00 to 21:30
Friday to Saturday: Buffet Dinner from 18:00 to 22:00
They also have a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea for some additional ambience. But then, our baby wasn't feeling the heat so we stayed indoors which meant more access to food, ahahaa.
I for one fell in love with their coffee jelly! The dessert section was my little paradise.
This was my husband's favorite part of the day! I repeat lunch buffet at Tradewinds Cafe is not part of the Regular Resort Day Use Package. For reservations, contact dtmc@dusit.com
As the sun faded away we slowly packed our bags...
Last dipped with my boys as we waved goodbye to a captivating view of the Magellan Bay.
If you're staying late you'll be able to catch the sunset here and it's something to look forward to as you end your day. Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort is soooo worth it. The pool, amenities and management are awesome. We’re definitely coming back here on our next vacation in the Philippines.
